First in our series of “Meet the cast” for our La Boheme performances on May 17th and 18th.

Meet Dr. Joel Burcham, a wonderful and gifted tenor, will be singing the role of Rodolfo during our May 2014 production of La Boheme.  Dr. Burcham received his Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He has sung numerous roles, including the role of Canio in STLO’s own production of Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci in 2013.
Let’s get to know him!

– What is your favorite color?
Black.
– What are 3 of your favorite hobbies?
Playing electric guitar, Heavy Metal, and cycling.
– When did you first start singing?
At age 6
– What is your favorite opera performance and why? Is there an opera that you haven’t yet performed that you would like to star in?
My favorite performance, is Faust. Role I’d like to do, Cavaradossi in Tosca.
– Would you like to tell us of any upcoming performances?
Tenor soloist in the Beethoven Missa Solemnis at the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt Austria.
– Do you have any advice for an aspiring singer?
Know your talent better than anyone else.
